"The CERF ... The PROOF"

Today's "reveal" is regarding CERF ...
"Canine Eye Registry Foundation"

On September 17, 2006 Judge Douglas Robinson ruled that we, Kathy & Todd Babbitt, had lied about the CERF testing of Echo and Carson and that Carson had never been tested, finding us guilty of fraudulent and misleading advertising, a violation of the Consumer Protection Act. he also ruled it unintentional. Nevertheless, on October 10, 2007, the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law & Order was filed, to include the following:
[2.5 Babbitt's website and the Purchase Agreement and Bill of Sale (Contract) affirmatively stated that Carson and Echo were certified by the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) ... These representations were not true. Carson never had a CERF.]

This blog will provide PROOF that, in fact, BOTH of these dogs were CERTIFIED free from heritable eye disease and clear for breeding.

Left to right: Carson, Drago, Echo

Ironically, it appears as though MONEY took away all the fears Tracy Skaer claimed to have regarding Drago's health or testing.

Karma

I thought this blog would be a perfect place to not only share in the daily goings on of Katoba Dobermans, but also a way of revealing some truths about what has occurred in my Doberman experience thus far.
The wonderful pieces of the puzzle are clear, and are shown in all the joyous pages throughout my website. The other side of that coin, though, is the negetivity that can occur when dealing with people of lesser integrity ~ those who thrive on conflict and are feuled by their own humility and false pride. Their wrath of harassment and blacklisting can be truly harmful though - socially, emotionally, and financially. And they exude such behaviors why? Because they live in fear, insecurity, and they hide behind a prideful and abusive facade.
There are some WONDERFUL people in the "Doberman World" ... and I feel so blessed to call many of them "friend". But, with every bit of sunlight, there follows a black cloud ... and I have been forced to suffer some thunderous storms from other opportunistic and indignant people. These types of people should NOT be representing the "Sport of Purebred Dogs", specifically the Breed of Dobermans. I can speak only for my own experience, but I can say that I am not the first person to be left in the wake of some ... and I will not be the last, unfortunately. My goal is not one of continued litigous action, but one of "change". These MUCT be change in order for these types of things to stop. There must be ACCOUNTABILITY for the DELIBERATE wrong-doings of those who choose to insitgate and perpetuate this type of behavior.
Being a competitor in canine venues has its rewards - my dogs are truly my friends - Dobermans are much more than JUST dogs ... they are humans in dog suits :). The relationships that form witho other Doberman owners, through sport & activites, breedings, handling, placmenet of puppies, and mentoring, are often times long-lived relationships. That said, it is a sport and it is a hobby ... each individuals passion, or sorts. Those unable to cope with happiness reigning in the lives of their competitors, can and do bring on trifling situations. There will ALWAYS be those who have adgendas... and they will always have a 'following' of equally deplorable fellows. They will all continue distribution of verbal and written garbage on Forum posting sites and other rumor lists. All of them are only able to survive on exploitation ... it is more entertaining than reality for the equally weak, or the vulnerable. Those pitiful individuals will continue in their quest because they are simply too insecure to admit their personal shortcomings which haunt them.
There are, of course, the REST ... those of you who truly care about truth and honor and dignity; those of you who see the damage of those who have personal adgenda based indignance. You will want more information ... you will want to see and hear and ask for ... truth.
I always try to do what I know is 'right' and true ... because I know I have ULTIMATELY to account to God for all of my actions. I am human being ~ therefore, I make mistakes, I fail, and I fall on my face. But, I get back up, request forgiveness where it may be needed, focus on improvement, and move forward.
Considering all that is contained within the above "rant" - hahaha - I will offer this about myself as the Owner and Breeder of Katoba Dobermans:
I love my dogs and I believe I am breeding for the betterment of the breed.
I have owned Dobermans for 14 years and have bred only 3 litters.
I have bred and owned multiple Champions, Performance titled get, Service and Therapy Certified dogs, and truly wonderful companions.
I health test my dogs and am discriminant about who I choose to breed and breed to.
I do not breed outside the written Standard of the Breed of Dobermans.
I breed within the guidlelines set forth by the AKC and DPCA.
I breed lovely Dobermans with outstanding temperaments and solid genetics.
I make breeding decisions based on my knowledge and desire for the litters I produce.
I give 100% focus, time and energy to the dam during pregnancy and even more to the litter once it whelps so the puppies are the best they can be upon placement - I stop at nothing to plan and care for the dam and puppies ... and to be a good and ethical Breeder.
I co-own all of the dogs I place, (with the eception of two), for the protection of the DOG, as well as the efforts I put into all that brought that puppy to fruition.
I am ALWAYS going to do what is best for each dog, and will be available to the best of my ability to each home throughout the life of each dog.
I am always be willing to receive a dog back if the owner is no longer able or willing to keep it; OR to take a dog back if the dog is NOT in a situation that is condusive to the well-being of the dog.
I have made a few poor placement decisions, finding out that the display of integrity was lacking in the actual follow up of the individual - but, unfortunately, we can only know 'so much' about a person before they actually get the puppy in their clutches.
My efforts have been greatly taken advantage of by a few deceiptful people ... but the heartfelt reward lies within those families who have turned ouut to be the RIGHT placements for a wonderful dog.
They are my gifts from God ... my rewards for great effort ...
... THEY know who they are :) ~ and I love them dearly.
It was once said to me that there will be at least one "idiot" in every litter.
While that may sound harsh, the opinion was recently supported by a fellow Breeder who stated that I "win the Big Prize for having the most and the worst idiots".
While she may be right, there must be "change" and hopefully that will come as a result of speaking out.
It is time that the truths about Katoba Dobermans is revealed ... and it is time for those who have chosen to deliberately Blacklist me in the Doberman Community and the public eye, to face public exposure and be ready for the ramifications of their actions.
I believe in God and am grateful for His hand of mercy and forgiveness.
I also realize His expectations of me to forgive others.
I usually always turn the other cheek to those who find reason to justify abusing my peace.
This has become very difficult, though, whereas the abusive blacklisting against my dogs, my household, my friends, my puppy homes, and my supporters has become overwhelming.
That said, I also believe in Karma ...
... "It all comes back around."

There will be one-at-a-time reveals on this Blog.
FOR those who are so incredibly supportive of me and Katoba Dobermans ... this is my gift to you;
TO all those who have found strength in Cyberbullying and Blacklisting ... here is my notice to you:
"It's all coming back around!"

In The Beginning ...

"Blogging" is a new adventure for me. Those who know me know that I am definitely NOT a "TechnoGadgetGirl" - I prefer things less complicated. I find so much energy wasted in trying to keep up with the latest in weblife destruction - I prefer diaries and privacy. I find a void in emails and text messaging - I prefer handwritten letters and speaking to people in person. I do not conform to political correctness - I prefer Biblical correctness.
I think I may have been born into the wrong era ~I would have been a great "Caroline Ingalls" ... given a few ammenities :)
Cyber-communities and the 'life' they have taken on have become more predominant than the world of REAL relationships. I find the internet to be a comlete anomaly. On the fli[ side, I want to experience a portion of what some may consider 'progress' ... while God lets me continue to enjoy breathing :).
I have non-interactive website, and I do use email. And, to the liking of my nieces, I have mastered text messaging on my cell phone. That said, I have yet to upgrade to a new phone ~ still have a simple old LG flip). I don't own an IPOD ~ I listen to the radio or CD's. I don't have a GPS ~ I study an area or use a map or Thomas Brothers Guide :). I don't have HDTV ~ heck, I don't even have cable service anymore. I do own a laptop now ~ after retiring my 13 year old Gateway Desktop. I have only JUST begun "buying" online, (much to my husband's dismay) ~ I LOVE to look through the real catalogs and/or shop in peson to try on the clothing before I buy it. I HATE emoticons ~ I want to SEE a person smile, HEAR them laugh, and FEEL a kiss.
I will never choose to dive in fully ...
... but, I have chosen to dip my toes into the cyber-tech waters.
My website is http://www.katoba.com/~
~ where you can read about "us".
My email address is katoba@comcast.net ~
~ where you can contact me if you feel the need.
My Saving Account number is ~
~ haha ... made you pause for just a moment, didn't it ?!
All of this said, I am choosing to start a REAL blog about Katoba Dobermans.
All about my dogs, it is to called:
"The DOG BLOG ... with Pix"
